Crayford action

My new crayford is very "clicky".

In the coarse action, there are definite regular noisy clicks (26 per rotation) rather than a smooth action. On the 1/10 speed focus knob the clicks are still there but only 2.6 clicks per rotation. I haven't got the tools handy to take it apart at the moment but will do at the next opportunity.

FIY the focuser is GSO low profile 10:1 Precision Micro Crayford Style (Taiwan)

Anyone have any experience with this problem and if so how did you solve it?

Can you adjust the tension of the focusser ??

If so, if you back off the tension is the click still there ?

D'Oh! Meant to say in the original post - doesn't make a difference - just makes it slightly easier to get the action going, which is otherwise very stiff and you end up overshooting.

thanks a lot! I've posted in that thread. The fine focus shaft looks fine, but I can't get any further in taking it apart.
