I reckon it depends how much noise reduction they have had to do in software to claim that. One suspects those nice little point-like stars might all vanish!

Actually I would quite like to try one of that generation of 'low-noise' Fuji P&S cameras, just to see if they live up to their claims. What really matters for DSO work is the dark current, in, say, a 15sec exposure, and I have never been clear if that is any better than my ancient Olympus 2020z. The manufacturers never tell you that of course!
