Bahtinov mask in live view

Recommended Posts

You often need a bright star to see it in live view.

If your camera can send the live view image to a laptop, then use some free ware called bahtinov grabber which tells you how near critical focus you are; remember in live view critical focus will change constantly (and rapidly, depending on your "refresh" rate) so focus will be good, then bad, then good all the time, it's just a case of getting it mostly good.
