stripped thread

The adaptor which attaches the mount on to the Orion pedestal has a stripped thread. The 10mm bolt which is meant to go through the adaptor from underneath and screw into the bottom of the mount just slides through. Does this matter?

I was thinking I'll still get a solid connection without the thread?

Also, does the EQ6 also use an M10 thread to bolt onto the mount, or is it M12?

No it shouldnt matter Andrew.. I know on my skywatcher pedestal the mount adaptor is the same.. the bolt just slides through and then screws into the base of the mount itself.
