M33 - QHY8L vs Modded 1000D

I took the opportunity this week to have another go at capturing M33. Last time I tried I was using my modded 1000D, so I was interested in how the QHY8L would compare. Whilst not a direct comparison, as I used a longer exposure time with the QHY8L, there is a noticeable difference.

This is my first image, taken with the Canon - 10 x 200s

I know the comparison is not exactly fair, but I do notice a significant improvement in the most recent image - the stars are tighter and I also notice the colour of the spiral arms is less blue (that may be down to the processing, I have noticed most of my images are less blue than with the 1000D).  The main thing I noticed however is a significant reduction in noise, which makes processing far easier and enables much more delicate noise reduction techniques.
