Astronomy and a MacBook Air

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I've just purchased a MacBook Air and it wash't purchased with Astronomy in mind. However, as i've got a Celestron SLT 8'' upstairs and a Philips webcam it has occurred to me that this laptop is so thin, light but most of all powerful that i could actually use it alongside my scope.

I'm not sure about controlling the scope from the laptop as i've got a remote on it so i dont really need to, but capturing imagery through it / using astronomy software would be great.

I was wondering if there are any mac users here who have any recommendations for what software to use? Any hints and tips?

(mods - if this should live in a different forum i apologise in advance, i wasn't sure where to post.)

Cheers!
