Gain and offset for Qhy8l

Recommended Posts

Hi i had a qhy8l and the gain was 5 and the offset was 116, unfortunately i had to send it back due to fault (only got a black screen when taking image there was nothing on the histogram). Having received a new camera after waiting over a month without one !! I am trying to set the gain and offset I am adjusting the offset and getting 117 but the gain is at 0 and i am getting a RMS value of 65535, max value of 65535, min value of 65535 the manual says if this is the value you get you should reduce the gain but i cannot lower as described in the user manual due to the gain already being at 0.

Can anyone offer any advice? should i leave the gain at 0 even though it is maxing out or is this another faulty camera!

thanks dave
