DSS batch stacking

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am trying to use batch stacking in DSS to stack images from two different nights. The problem is that DSS automatically saves the image as an Autosave Tiff file which will not open in Photoshop-apparently because it is '32 bit floating point'.

Usually I save the image -'save as' and it will then open in Photoshop, even though it is still a tiff file, but presumably not 32 bit. However, batch stacking does not give this option. Does anyone know a way round this? Can I convert 32 bit to something Photoshop can open?

Actually, my brain isn't working! It is very simple, I just found the Autosave Tiff file, opened it in DSS and saved it as a 16 bit image. Some versions of Photoshop cannot use 32 bit images and mine gives an error message saying that there is not enough memory (RAM)
