Schmidt cassegrain 8" or 10"

Hi there,

Used to have a 10"Lx, fork mounted and a great scope. You have not mentioned if you are going for a fork mount or otherwise. The Lx 200 was 70lb to mount so enough for one in the dark.

For me there was no choice did not consider the 8". Putting a wide 30mm on the sct gave great views.

You have a great choice to make though...

Sorry, your right, should have said it's gonna be the Meade lx200 acf on a standard field tripod...for now!

The main reason for choosing an 8" over a 10" would be portability, if you can handle the 10" then go for that.

If you are considering buying a new Meade, you may want to consider this for warranty purposes.....

Celestron make equally good SCTs.
