Nexstar Motor Kept Running?

I just received my 102mm slt refractor. I was exploring the sky with the motor on the hightest speed. After releasing the directional arrow the motor continued to run and slew the scope. Untill I was able to hit another button. It had a direct 12v charge from the car battery. I have also used it with batteries without any problems. I don't know if it's a one time thing,the motor or hand controller. I have used it to track the sun without difficulty. Would anyone have an idea what might be causing this? Pat

I wonder if it's just a sticky control button

Tried this but couldn't get it repeat itself. Might have to call Celestron. Thanks Pat
