Need a little help please.

Hi i recently sold my sky watcher 127 goto and upgraded to a 10 inch lx200 gps telescope. Ive got a question should i keep the mount lock locked when using the goto fuctions or does it need to be open? Its just when its open the slightest knock and it moves the scope also ive been scared to lock it and use it thinking this could damage the drive. Ps ive looked in the manual and it doesnt tell me whether to keep it locked when using the goto functions.

Usually they are locked (tightened) otherwise the motors go round but the scope isn't driven.

Base this on 3 Meades where they need to be tightened otherwise nothing moves, but none are the LX series.

Thanks ive worked it out it does need to be locked. Its quite a bit more advanced than my sky watcher so i think ive got a lot to learn hopfully it will be a clear night tonight so il be able to get out with it for the first time.
