Velbon are a very good make (though hardly the best), but I would guess that at that price it would make a good investment. I have an older version which I use purely for my DSLR's but I am not sure that I would trust an expensive scope on it.

I was thinking a Skywatcher Startravel 80 OTA would work quite well for anyone with this mount, as it's only 1.3kg....
