CG-5 to Stellarium

Hey,

Just have a quick question. I have yet to connect my mount to Stellarium, but when the times comes and I have polar aligned the mount do I still have to go through the star alignment process in order to use Stellarium to slew my scope to an object? Or can I just polar align the mount and then slew to an object through Stellarium.

Do all your mount startup procedure, that includes the star alignment, once you have done that you can use Stellarium safely.
