Sam Bo
Hi allFirst attempt at stacking and processing images taken of the Milkyway.Interested in any comments/help regarding the processing.I'm guessing the strong red is the result of an unmodified sensor? Can this be filtered out to achieve a golden balance? 23 x lights3 x darks20 sec exposures18 mm @ f4.5ISO 800CheersSam
nmoushon
Modding makes it more sensitive to red so your unmodded camera didn't cause that effect. Only thing I could think of to cause is LP or you might have had a bit of a heavy hand on the saturation. What did you use to stack and process? DSS and PS or Gimp? Sam Bo
Stacked using DSS and processed using Gimp. The red was observable after adjusting the histogram in Gimp without saturation adjustment so I think you are right about the LP.
Sam Bo
Would this filter help reducing light pollution?http://www.amazon.co.uk/52mm-091-Glass-Filter-Dark/dp/B0000BZL3MIs there an equivalent LP filter for 52 mm lens dslrs as for eyepieces? pulsar pete
Sam,I bought a sky watcher 2 inch light polution filter that I use with eyepieces. You can then get stepping rings which should allow the same LP filter to fit onto your camera lens thread.RegardsPeter
