gimp help

Recommended Posts

Hi . I loaded the GIMP program yesterday and played with the curves to try to enhance some old photos . It improved them but when i saved one it had changed from a 2gb j peg file to a 22gb gimp file which will only open with the gimp program . Is this normal ? Thanks

Recent versions of GIMP split the save function in two. "Save" now only creates .xcf files, which are GIMP's native file format supporting things like layers. To get a common format like jpeg you need to choose "Export".
