Focus or Mount?

Took this snap last night, and wondered if the alt-az mount I'm using is causing the blurring of the stars, or if it is bad focus (or both)? The photo was 1600ASA for 2 minutes, F5.6 with a 300mm lens. It was a single shot i.e. no stacking. Lack of contrast I can attribute to a relatively light sky. Focus was manual - would it be better to go for "live" focus with a computer, or is it the lack of a proper mount?
