SkyWatcher Startravel 80 on AZ3

Hello guys,

I am new writing here but have already read several good piece of advice since few weeks.

I am using currently a Sky Watcher Startravel 80mm on EQ1 enjoying its Grab'n Go side.

I have ordered also an AZ3 to avaoid EQ setting and being able to move the scope easily.

My problem is that the OTA is too short to fit on the AZ3 . I need to buy some adapter devices but don't know what at all.

If someone has the reference of what is needed to fit, it would be helpful.

I had that problem and I could not find an adaptor readily available to buy so I made my own - a piece of 25mm x 25mm square hardwood about 150 cm long with 4 holes drilled in it - 2 to fit the holes in the AZ-3 mounting plate and 2 to bolt it to the tube rings on the scope. I had to buy some longer bolts to fasten it all together but it worked fine.
