PI has a limitation when using star alignment. It can cope with star movement in relation to the reference image but only within a small number of pixels. This means it cannot cope with a series of images where the alignment targets move slowly in a direction towards the edge of the frame.

Does anyone know how to make PI track the motion over time?

In my case I'm using PI star align with inverse to align a set of 640 FITS images of the current large sun spot :clouds2:
