I don't really see the point of the 'finder' on the astromaster so I decided to fit a bresser one hopefully it will be much more accurate. I used a length of top hat DIN rail and simply screwed the finderscope base onto it then onto the piggy back mount on the scope. The DIN rail fits nicely onto the tube clamp rings so should stay put nicely. If I have clear skies tonight I'll let you know how it goes!
