Cameras for general use and autoguiding.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've been looking at cameras for autoguiding, they all appear to have the same size sensor and the same sensor resolution, I.e. the celestron neximage, the opticstar PL131, the philips spc so what is the difference, and what is the best to go For given the choice.

Also there are cameras on thebay which look identical to the orion starshoot eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

Are they the same camera without Orions badge, I know scopes and skies sell a camera they say is the same as a nexinage but cheeper.

Or is it a case of if it seems too good to be true it usually isnt.

Kev.

EDIT : the opticstar has an 1/2" sensor.
