HELP. EQ5 Mount DEC problem (NO MOTOR)

I have a problem, i do not kno whether my mount is broke. When i look down the eyesight to align to polaris i cannot make the image i see spin around. are the circles suppose to make this spin or is this a feature only for the motor? the circles also seem very flimsy unless i tighten the bolt, they move up and down, I'm guessing they are only suppose to turn like a dial then tighten when uve set it.

so to clarify I'm spinning these circle dials but when i look down the eye piece nothing is moving.

Are you using a polar scope? When you look through the 'eye piece' is there a picture of polaris with a circle around it?

You need to read this if thats the case : Astro Babys HEQ5 Polar Alignment

And to move the scope, you need to move the RA Axis and not just the setting circles, sorry if ive mis-interpreted your question

ok yeah, i had another play before you posted, i think i get it now. that link is good though i will use that. i was expecting the dipper and the polaris marker to spin if i spun the circles but its when you spin the axis lol, you can tell I'm a noooooob. thanks for the link ill give that a read to better my understanding. thanks a lot.
