Orion Nebula Imaging

Should I be able to get this with a phillips cam? It doesn't have the LX mod. I can't get it at all it seems way too dark and no matter how much I mess with the cam setting I get zilch. What am I doing wrong or do I need the LX mod to get nebula?

You'll need either the LX mod or a DSLR. Or if you can afford one, a dedicated CCD camera.

I'll do the lx mod at the weekend then, cheers. I do have a dslr but too heavy for my scope when the object's low in the sky.
