Same size filters for observing and imaging

Do most people use the same size filters for observing and imaging? I use a 1.25" diagonal for observing and I'm trying to decide whether to image using a 1.25" T mount adapter to save money on filters. Will this have a negative impact when i shortly begin to take images? I don't seem to be able to use a 2" filter on my 2" to 1.25" adapter else i'd do that.

Any help would be very useful!

Is it possible to get a 2" to 1.25" adapter with 2" filter thread? This will solve my problems and allow me to image via 2" which will be a lot more stable.

How about a 2" to T thread adapter with 2" filter thread and then a Low profile T thread to 1.25" eyepiece holder from Accessories @ Modern Astronomy

Sorry, having a bit of a one way conversation here, this would work wouldn't it? Someone must of come across this problem before.

I use 2" filters in front of a Baader MPCC for imaging with my DSLR and 1.25" EP filters for observing.
