Meade DS2080 Focuser Tight?

I have a Meade DS 2080 refractor which is a couple of years old. The focuser on the OTA has gone very stiff when winding out/in. I had to push the focuser back in the other night by hand as the knobs did not move it. The focus rack was well greased up when it was delivered so I'm thinking it requires regreasing? I picked up some Teflon grease and wondered if this would do the job? Would i need to dismantle to add grease? Just wondered if anyone had come across the same problem and how they resolved it?

I think you will need to strip out the focuser and give it a good clean, then replace with a smear of some Teflon white grease, make sure you blank off the the main OTA with some tissue to stop ingress of dust particles while you carry out the process

Thanks Glowjet I'll give this a try at the weekend. I'll update how I get on incase anyone else comes across the same problem.

I took the focuser out, cleaned and regreased. Now running nice and smooth again.
