Mars tonight

Managed to get a look at Mars just now, would have loved to see Saturn but with work tomorrow, no chance!

However it must have been slightly cloudy or turbulent - it was shimmering quite a bit, quite bright as well because I thought it would have seemed redder than it did.

The pattern at the moment seems to be clear skies early evening then high cloud nearer midnight... Hopefully this is due to change!

last night i was out trying the new progress on my EQ platform. zoomed in on some bright object, first thought it was saturn or jupiter, but it was mars, and i could see the ice cap the first time in my life. on GSO dobson 10 inch with 10mm superplossl and 3x barlow.
