Can anyone tell me whether this is worth having if my telescope is rarely moved away from home. Does it help in setting up the telescope each time apart from entering the time and date and exact lat and long( which I have input already)?

That's basically all it does... if you observe mostly from home it's a bit overkill (for the price!), as in the couple of minutes it takes to lock on to satellites, you could be finding accurate time with your phone/laptop and entering it manually...
