What to do at the end of the nights viewing

Hi

Had a great couple of hours viewing tonight but just wondering what's the best way to pack up?!

Basically when I've finished and brought the cold scope into a warmish house do I put the scope straight back into it's storage box? Should it be left to warm up? Should the lens caps be put on? I'm worried about condensation gathering on the scope.

May seem like some daft questions, but I'm just worried about damaging anything! Newbies eh? Gotta love us!

store the scope slightly down so that you don't get water running into the optics. wipe the outside of the tube with a cloth keep the caps off and if you have a cat don't let it nuzzle your scope. dog hair isn't much good for it either.

forgot to say as soon as its dry put the caps back on

I put mine in the garage as its a good in between from the cold outside and the heat of the house, but I do not point it down and I do put the caps on so lesson learnt - thanks
