Illuminated reticle on Mead lx200gps

I seem to be having problems getting my illuminated reticle to 'illuminate'!

Pressing 7 on the autostar brings up the reticle menus (intensity, duty cycle etc) but pressing enter on any of these fails to show any current value. The handset just beeps.

The scroll buttons don't adjust anything and all I'm getting is a very very dim glow.

I am guessing the lx needs to know it has a reticle fitted to allow adjustment????

Odd that the reticule menus are not in setup and I've looked everywhere else to no avail.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but then again, it is a Meade

hi , some meade reticles have battiers inside .. best check if its one of these type , they are easy to leave on

Nope, it plugs into the reticle socket on the mount.

The handset allows control of brightness and flashing rate, except it doesn't seem to be doing anything....
