Where can I find those adapters

Recommended Posts

I need one of those small ring adapters to go on the focuser of my 8" skywatcher dobsonian, so that I can fit the smaller 6mm lense from my old 3" telescope. I do currently have one, but need to buy one for use on the 3" telescope which I gave to someone.

If anyone knows what they're called and where I can find them, it'd be a great help.

Cheers.

Since your scope is a old 3", I will assume it uses 0.965" eyepieces.

In that case your will need a 0.965" (eyepiece) to 1.25" (focuser) adapter. You can find it here

AstroBoot

search "1.25" to 0.965" adapt "

Is there any reason why you want to use that 6mm. If that eyepiece is of MA,H, R, SR designs then I'd recommend spending a bit more and buy cheap 1.25" plossl instead.

First Light Optics - Skywatcher SP Plossl eyepieces

Most 0.965" eyepieces are optically very poor, even worse if they are short focal length high magnification, which your 6mm will be one (unless it's an orthoscopic (Or)).
