which is better ?

Recommended Posts

What do you want it for..visual or imaging? bear in mind that second hand scopes from ebay that are advertized as "very good condition" can be anything but that!!.

The helios scope is on an EQ mount so could be motor driven..however its not really enough of a mount for imaging i dont believe- the helios scope looks dirty on the outside to me and not well looked after, this is probably a hint as to the mirrors condition, it may have been photod inside but chances are its been stored in someones shed!..id pass on it.

The skywatcher dobsonian has little to no imaging capability appart from snaps of the moon and mabey simple planet shots...but is much better visualy due to the mount.

id go for the skywatcher, but buy it from here, not only is it £20 cheaper the company is very well respected - i bought my scope from them and had no problems at all.
