Clear skies at last

Recommended Posts

FinallyI have been able to use my new Skywatcher evostar 90mm refractor tonight.

So comparing it to my old second hand Tal1 reflector how did it compare?

Well using the Tal with both the Tal eyepieces and the 10mm SW one plus the Tal barlow the Tal showed a sharp good size image of Jupiter. The SW unfortunatly displayed a slightly fuzzier image with CA, also smaller. This is probably because the Tal barlow is 3x, the SW 2x.

Looking at the moon the SW performed well using a moon filter, I couldnt use the Tal on the moon as it was not it a good podition for the heavy base. So the jury is still out! Anyone have a SW 90 mm refractor? What do you think of it?
