First telescope

Well after me introduction I'll ask my first question

I'm looking into purchasing my first telescope and bee doing a bit of research and the Celestron Nexstar 130 SLT has caught my eye. Does anyone have this or used it? What are your views guys. Thanks.

...and from memory the secondary mirror supports may not be as good. I would just ask FLO, the site sponsors, because they are very straight and will give you the pros and cons.

The obvious alternative would be a larger reflector on a simpler, but more stable, manual Dobsonian mount. You'd get much more aperture instead of the Go To and with small scopes the problem is that the Go To takes you to things you can't see anyway through lack of aperture!

Well I will probably have around 400 quid to spend on my first one and it will need to be portable as I won't be able to see much from where I live.The light polution is quite bad.
