What beginners can find and see: Dec 5 - Dec 11

Recommended Posts

Below is a link to the "Eyes on the Sky" video for this coming week of December 5th through December 11th:

As always, there are some wonderful things to see in the night sky, and despite the shorter format, I managed to squeeze in a few fun things this week. A quick run-down:

Moon near Jupiter

Mars near M65 and M66

A lunar eclipse

How a cat could alter the orbit of Mars

I nearly take a trip with a pirate to see the lunar eclipse

(Okay, I might have had a little bit of fun making this one.)

thanks for the link, hope it is clear on the 10th for a chance to see the Moon Eclipse as it rises. :)

You're welcome - and thank you for watching. :)

I think you might have a better shot at seeing the eclipse than I will. I'll be lucky to catch a tiny bit of penumbral shadowing.

Saw the Moons of Jupiter on the night of 3rd here in NC, USA and really enjoyed it. Took me off guard at first but was all-some when I verified that it was the moons.

Nice - very cool Scott! :)
