First telescope to kick off SBASOC. Your opinions please...

Looking for some advice on telescopes around the £200 mark.

Me and M are both wanting to get a telescope each so we would like to get two that have differing specifications so we can get the most out of our meager budget.

We have been looking at the Skywatcher Evostar 120 OTA £240, Skywatcher Skyliner 150p Dobsonian £200 and Skywatcher Startravel 102T OTA £163 among other but quite honestly don't know what were looking for. Over the next few weeks we will be doing our best to read up as much as we can between studying and hopefully be competent enough to use the things by the time they arrive.

Hi,

If you buy just an OTA (optical tube assembly) you will need to buy a mount as well which would somewhat blow your budget (sorry if you know that !).

The 150P dobsonian comes with a mount attached and also happens to be the one I'd pick as a great starter scope for £200.
