Telescope care

I have had my skywatcher for just over a month now and am yet to use it. It is bigger than I had anticpated (did not look at dimensions at all!). It has been resting on my dining table and really needs to find a more permanent home.

All I need to know is if it would be ok to buy a suitable cover (advice on what and where to get would be useful) and store in an outdoor shed? May sound like a silly question but I just want to be sure..... I am assuming the benefits will be that it will be acclimatised and ready to go??

I keep my scopes in a wooden garden shed all year round, covered by a kingsize 7.5 tog duvet. They are as snug as a bug in a rug You are correct, your scope will acclimatise much quicker from being stored outside.

I agree with Damo and for extra assurance against dust, pollen, bugs, etc, try a thin plastic trash bag over the whole scope.
