Observing Filters

PSSM

Recommended Posts

I am looking at purchasing a set of filters for observation of the planets.

Scope is a Celestron 9 1/4" SCT and eyepieces are Celestron Ultima-LX 8/ 13/ 22 & 30mm, generally onto a 2" diagonal.

Question 1 - Do I use 2" filters in the diagonal, or save a bit of money and go for 1 1/4" on the eyepieces and forget about the 30mm.

Question 2 - What is a good, but not too good (expensive) manufacturer to go for.:)
