Higher Power Eyepiece Advice

16mm eye relief and 60 degree field on the Xcel LXs for £69, these seam to be the performers at the minute, some have even mentioned televue radians in the same sentence, which cant be bad :D

Unfortunately, I think you will find the CA becomes worse at higher powers regardless of the eyepiece type used. Generally F/5 achromats work best at 100x and under - they were designed to be low / medium power, wide field scopes which they are great for.

That's good to know.

CA is there but bearable at 106 X (my 6mm). I guess I am trying to wring the most out of my scope.

A bit more magnification will also help with slightly smaller planetary nebulae. In my 6mm the Blue Snowball was pretty bright and looked as though I could magnify more.
