Magnification with a camera

Recommended Posts

I am just beginning to realise that taking pics with a telescope is a lot different to visual. If I look at say Jupiter with a good telescope

and want it magnified,I just put in the appropriate lens (I guess),

but it seems you cant do that with a camera....cos it cant be attached???? with a lens in place????

So how do you guys get those big and detailed pics of jupiter

from a camera on the scope, when visually with a low power eyepiece ,the disk is tiny( hence same with no lens and a camera)????

Sorry,but all new to me:o

Brian.

i suspect that they are use in a a good purpose camera, and a scope to suit it and barlows ect ,say in that you can with a decent-ish scope and mount and cheapo web cam get a few good pics, of the planets its a cheap way to start out total cost for the web cam and adapter is about 40 quid tops, they brill on the moon and some planets and it will let you get the hang of it
