Samsung SCB-2000 notes

Greetings, first post.

I ordered a Samsung SCB-2000 and found it is already in transit by UPS.

This is a pleasant surprise, as there is a public event it will be perfect for the weekend it arrives in time for.

I was a bit worried at first reading some negative feedback about the vendor, and expected to wait many days for shipping.

I should have plenty of time to remove the filter, but wonder if I should leave it intact until after the public showing, as I imagine Jupiter would be the star of the show on video, while others will have scopes on the usual DSO's for real eyeballing.

Ditto on the welcome.

I have the 2000 and it is a brilliant piece of kit.

I would advise you leave the IR filter alone for the time being.

I removed mine to do some dso stuff and now I cannot get a decent image of Jupiter at all.

Just a big white star.

Now gone down the screw in IR filter for the adapter route so I can do both.

Thanks.

Now what should I expect to have on the front for mounting?

All the published photos of the camera include the lens which is of course not part of what I am expecting.

I'm looking in my junkbox for c-mount stuff, and assume it comes with a female thread c-mount for 1/3 inch chip?

I also have a couple 1.25" nosepieces with male t-thread from sbig st-2000xcm.

I just logged back in here to research it.

I also hope I won't be paying half the camera cost for an adapter :).

Hi again

You can get the adapter from FLO.

Ordered one myself on Monday fitted it Tuesday no problem.

The SBC 2000 will take either male or female adapters.

You just remove the lense 'coupling' for a male thread or leave it on for a female thread.

The adapters from FLO even take the screw in filters I was talking about in earlier reply.
