Solar disk 27 Sept 2011

The seeing was not all that good yesterday but I just had to image the disk with AR1302. The active region is on center left and the AR1301 is on center right. Also around the limb there can be seen a few filaproms which are quite interesting.

While activity looks to be picking up, it is still down quite a lot to where it was in the last cycle.

Nice disk Paul! Any chance of a black and white version? Are you using the 'dodge' function on the proms at all?

Thanks Mark, yes I use a bit of doge on the proms after some shadows and highlight through a mask. I don't have a lot of time to go back now and do a mono version. You can lift it from the site if you like and make it mono yourself in PS.
