aligning the heq5 for idiots

Hi Everyone,

I,ve been running through Astro baby's guide to setting up the mount and need to clarify a point if someone could help.

Early on in the guide image 9 where the screw is loosened on

the ring that contains the date/longitudal index mark and then

rotated round until its opposite the 0 then locked down.

Does this ring need to ever be touched again or is this a once

only adjustment, to then continue to align to polaris and the ncp.
