BigBlueOne Posted August 23, 2011 Share Posted August 23, 2011 Hi Everyone,Wanting to combine photography with stargazing and deciding to go for a 6" or 8" if my budget was around the £900 markwould this figure get me the kit needed to hook up to my canondslr.I do realise the old saying horses for courses, its just the groundwork that I,ve been doing has opened up my eyes to the cost of some of the equipment needed to enable me to do this.I,ve got my eye on this : Startravel 150 EQ5 6" f/750 Refractorany help would be very appreciated.Thankyou Alan. ollypenrice Posted August 23, 2011 Share Posted August 23, 2011 Honestly not a good idea at all. It is an achromat with nothing like the colour correction needed for deep sky imaging. Before buying anything I'd check out Making Every Photon Count by Steve Richards. You need an overview of what imaging involves and it starts with the mount, not the scope.
