Skywatcher mak 127 eyepiece question

Anyone know if the skywatcher Mak 127 can take 2" eyepeices nad if so is there any real benefit?

I will be buying a lrger scope soon and want to standardise my eyepeices a bit if possible

I think the new 127 skymax on EQ3 mounts are 2" compatible but all other 127 setups are 1.25". There is a MAK/SCT adapter Astro Engineering AC789 adaptor ring to convert Sky Watcher rear cell thread to SCT visual back thread that enables 2" diagonals to be fitted but this only allows you to use your existing 2" EP's and offers no real advantage to the view.
