Astronomik IR Proplanet filters

Do these make any real difference in terms of 'cutting' through the seeing? I'll be in all likelihood be looking at the 742 model to go on a Skymax 180. To quote the Ronseal ads do they do 'excactly what it says on the tin'?

TIA

Tony..

Yes they do help, expecially with mono cameras, which can use all pixels for the IR shot. I have various IR filters including both ProPlanets, RG850, RG1000 and red+IR longpass filters and they are very handy. The RG1000 which uses only the longest IR wavelengths available for cameras is a real seeing killer on the Moon. ProPlanet 742 is "dedicated" for planets.
