USB Camera quest

I'm looking to upgrade from a webcam, but I don't want to spend megga amounts on a high performance camera. I've seen this one from 'The Image Source' which on the face of it looks quite good (up to 5MP, monochrome, very small pixels at 2 and a bit microns).

Not being an expert in such matters and not wishing to waste money either, does anyone know if such a camera would be suitable for H-alpha imaging in hi-res?

Check those images below (taken with DMK72 - the same thing as you linked + housing). It does seems to work but you can't take to much frames on full resolution or you will get like 5GB for 1000 frames. The chip is bit smaller than 1/2" (DMK41).
