I found a set of tube rings to fit my SW 150p on ebay so I decided to have a go at Astro-baby's rotating ring mod Rotating Rings for Reflector Telescopes

Instead of counter sinking the screw heads I tapped one half of the ring to M6 and opened out the hole in it's partner to take a M6 socket screw.

I fitted the pair of rings so I can slacken the tube in any position without it slipping.

A nice easy mod which should make a big difference in ease of use.;)

Also found an ironing ( observing ) stool in a charity shop today :eek:
