Great service from FLO, ordered an 8 & 5mm x-cel eyepiece and a William optics cf dielectric diagonal on sunday, despatched monday and delivered tuesday. Can't fault it, top service guys.

Can't wait to try them now, might have to wait a bit........weathers turned for the worst.

I am a maintenance engineer for a Tape manufacturing company and one of our suppliers for bearings and transmission parts got them for me,

I think they were between £5-10 each ( i can't remember sorry!)

They need to be quite a low stack height, if i remember correctly it's about 5mm.

Here are the pics of the thrust bearing used to replace the original plastic washers on the nexstar 5SE mount.

They were fitted to both axis and so far have proved to be free running.

Hi Guys,

This sounds just like a problem i had with my 5SE mount. I had done all the things mentioned above, checking tightness, grease etc!

What i eventually found was that even when the motor was removed from every thing it was still slowing down! So i sprayed some switch cleaner onto the motor com and brush end.

Problem disappeared and so far (fingers crossed) hasn't returned.

As an extra i also replaced the cheap plastic washer and spring washer with a proper thrust bearing.
