  1. Another cloudy night! Thanks for the youtube comment Ray as you must have seen it too, i also think its another y2k but while looking into Dr Michio Kaku's theories of the universe etc it was just one of subjects that came up. Yes i have tried the scope but not too lucky with cloudy skies, i do like it and i got it at a very reasonable price but i know what you mean about the need to upgrade, as you say everything takes time. Not tried to set up the GOTO yet, is it hard to do? i have read the instructions but i can see it taking me a while to master somehow. Cant wait to have a good look around the moon and at jupiter, lets hope we get some clear skies soon! Thanks for the welcome and your comments Ray. Sun Gazer
  2. Hello to all stargazers, This is my first day as a member and i am a complete begginer to stargazing. I was told about this site today by a lovely couple who are already members, i bought one of their telescopes today and i am over the moon with it!:headbang: Its a Celestron Nexstar SLT 60 and as i am a complete beginner with telescopes im sure its more than enough to get me started. I have already learned my first lesson, never buy a telescope on a cloudy night! I cant wait to start and as i am more of a night time person this seems to be the perfect start to a new hobbie. I have always been interested in astronomy but would never claim to be an expert, to further my knowledge is my goal! I would love to see a comet, galaxy or any kind of astromical event so i will be keeping a close eye on the sky and as a active member i will try to read as much of everyones post to get the best information available. I am interested if anyone has any information about the orbit of planet X (Nibiru). There is lots of speculation on the arrival of this planet/comet in the year 2012. Thank you for reading my post, i would love to hear about any interesting events viewable in space and beyond so please let me know if anybody knows if there is any soon! Thanks again, Sun Gazer.
