Back. So I like the idea of the tabletop mount, I've just been reading they don't always work out as well as one anticipated. As far as the Zhumell,the focuser seems much better, with the option of one day upgrading if desired. What about collimation though between the two? As somebody who has never attempted it,is it worth the concern between the two? I know the optics on both get great reviews, it's just when you Google them not much is said of the Zhumell, but hundreds of posts about the heritage..and yes, I'm considering the 150p if it becomes available around the time I'm ready. Simply put, I've read so much ice confused myself, 😆

Hi all. I'm new and trying my best to understand my wants vs needs. I live in a small city, normal light pollution. I have two small kids I'm trying to show the stars to. I have a decent camera tripod that I think I can attach a vixen mount to for either of these scopes. That said, given the choice which makes sense?

So, I made the mistake of getting a cheap scope for my girls and me to learn together on. I'm not going to dump too much money into a better scope until I know they enjoy it, maybe 2-3 years away. To bridge that gap ice been reading up on zoom lenses for both convience and cost savings. My eye is on either the svbony or celestron. That said, will I get a decent image out my scope..it's an f4.6. thank you and be gentle,lol.

To add, 70mm aperture 300mm focal length.

Of course. It's a toyerbee 70mm aperture and 300mm focal length. I already have the next one in kind, an 8inch Dob. So ideally, if like to not buy eye pieces that won't carry over. In my mind, a decent zoom with an upgraded 2x barlow plus a quality 32mm wide angle might be enough. But I just don't know much about this really.

So I got my girls a cheap scope for Xmas and I'm unsure how to make the best use of it. It's an f4.6. I'm starting to understand some about it needing higher quality eye pieces at this focal ratio. That being said, an adjustable zoom with be the simplest with two little ones wager to see. Is a zoom lens even an option on a scope this cheap? If not what's the solution to keep it simple and fun. I'm afraid I bought something so cheap it'll turn them off of the night sky. Thank you.
