Hi and sorry to revive an old thread but am really struggling and may have to ditch my mewlon and buy a new one as cannot, get it working well.
I'm trying to image Jupiter but can't get it sharp (see attached photo showing one of its moons and the best I could get it focused).I'm following the instructions for collimation using a piece of card but it doens't help as shows the vanes (4 of them) to be perfectly aligned and I can't see any issue with them.
(see 2nd photo) excuse the quality as is taken on my phone
Really appreciate any help - I can't star collimate currently as there is no clear sky here for ages.

Hi, I have the same mount and tripod. Not used it yet (due to the usual British weather). I really like the clutches as they lock completely. However, I did wonder what would happen if the scope accidentally hit the tripod leg - would the clutch somehow slip or would the motor keep trying to move?
Interested to hear your thoughts.
Regards
Richard

I tried one of these on my TSA-120. Very unimpressed.
The 'reaction arm' is made from flimsy, thin metal and bends causing the focuser to feel spongy. I made a thicker one and it sorted this issue but after a while the securing screws came loose. I sold it and bought a starlight instruments focuser which broke soon after installing.
Starlight sent me a replacement part which I've fitted and will see. It's likely to last forever as haven't been able to use the scope for months due to the ever present clouds.
I posted an honest review of the Mef-3 on the flo website but they obviously only publish the positive ones as has not appeared.
